Remember the Night......

This was our first ever evening match and not only that it was our first on a 4G surface. The coaches decided that it would also be 9 aside and straight from the kick off Hawks won a corner. The cross came in and Mike decided to clear it with his head, unfortunately he cleared it straight into his own net......never mind

The boys have been playing well lately and with their new found confidence struck back with a goal from Ossie although the initial strike came from Sam.

The boys were giving it all and decided to play differently this time, instead of the 'I can run through the whole team on my own type of  play' they decided to try a long ball game. One extreme to another!

The defensive boys were great looking behind them a lot more. Tom was excellent again in with some lovely controlled clearances and Jack was he old self, just never giving up. The only weakness is their turn of pace and no8 was always leaving them for dead. This is where Freddy came into his own saving shot after shot. What a goalkeeper he is becoming!

Mike was playing his now accustomed roll in defensive midfield. A roll in which he has taken to like a duck to water. He was constantly talking to his defense and passing or clearing the ball with confidence. Again the only weakness was no8's pace.

In the second half a decision was made to swap Ben from attacking midfield around with Mike, this was when
Ben came into his own. He has pace and suddenly in the second half no8 was no longer a threat. Ben stopped his runs and at times outpaced no8.

Sam was involved as much as he could be, one minute he was on the left then next he was on the right and attempted at some killer passes.
Zack worked hard in midfield and stayed in position, showing silky skills when he did get on the ball.

Issac got stuck in and has a lovely left foot. He holds the left side of the pitch really giving the team some shape. Ossie always excites when he is on the the ball as he runs with it as speed whilst looking to pass. The key thing here is he scored when it counted!
Ollie is a lovely character and can jink past anybody. You know he is going past the first player that tries to tackle him. He did do the best tackle of the whole match when as the Hawkes forward was just about to pull the trigger Ollie from know where skidded in and came away with the ball

Our boys pushed forward and with Mike now attacking managed to redeem his headed fopaux with a nice skidded tow poke to get out second goal!

A great performance from both sides.......
