Respect Marshalls
RESPECT MARSHALLS AT BFC
From September 2024 with the support of Essex FA, Broomfield FC introduced the role of ‘Respect Marshalls’ at our home games. A volunteer parent/guardian from each home Youth Team shall identify themselves to the Match Official as the Respect Marshall and shall be wearing a Yellow High-Vis Vest during the match. The Respect Marshall’s role is defined by the GAME acronym; -
GREET -The Referee/ Home & Opposition Team Managers/ Coaches before kick off
ACKNOWLEDGE –The levels of expected behaviour (as per the below #PlayYourPart Poster), the consequences if there is unacceptable behaviour**. Respect Marshalls then relays this to home spectators.
MONITOR -Home Spectators, should not come in to conflict anyone, call out poor practice and remind spectators of levels of acceptable behaviour.
ESCALATE –If Respect Marshalls they feel uncomfortable with a situation during the match, they will raise with the Home Team Manager or bring to attention of Referee. It is the responsibility of these officials to then manage the situation. Broomfield Club (SEC) Officials present on match days may also be a route for escalation.
